Besuch der englischen Austauschschüler aus Grimsby

What a fantastic time the St James’ pupils from Grimsby had on the recent visit to CJD. We were brilliantly looked after by Mr Oehm, Miss Heidel and all the staff, parents and pupils. We spent time in lessons discussing amongst other things traditional British School uniform, visited the Drachenfels and Bonn - remarkable Museum of German History - (the Haribo shop proving to be very popular) and spending a great day on the Saturday with host families in which we played mini golf and went bowling. The night before we were hosted by Paul’s family for a delicious BBQ at which an impromptu game of football took place between the pupils. Needless to say it went to a penalty shoot-out and thanks to a miss by Dr Price (a Welshman) Germany won on penalties again……this of course making up for defeat of our hosts in the real competition! The hospitality we received during our stay was quite brilliant and we cannot thank all those involved enough for making it such a memorable time. The highlight for
me was seeing the lifelong friendships that have been made by the students - which was the whole purpose of the exchange. Indeed it was a very emotional farewell. Thank you for allow us to spend some time in your lovely school and in your beautiful area.
As we are a boarding school we can offer short term Stays-3-6 weeks to a term or longer for any pupils from CJD that would like the opportunity to experience life in our traditional British school.
